A vast country with diverse opportunities for geographical tours. STS recognise that taking a trip to China may be a once in a life time opportunity and we are happy to give you guidance on a range of tailor-made geographical tours.
Take your group to explore the modern city of Shanghai where riverside skyscrapers juxtapose with the Bund area, once home to citizens from all continents, including many British. Visit an Eco Village to investigate agricultural techniques and China’s interesting solutions to sustainability. Investigate production processes at a car making plant, walk on the amazing Great Wall or consider the impact of rapidly increasing numbers of tourists on China’s extraordinary and fragile heritage.
Visit the extraordinarily beautiful landscapes of Guilin to study river processes and landforms. Take a trip to the Three Gorges Dam and challenge your students to make their own decisions about the world’s largest, and probably most controversial, HEP project.
China is about as geographical impressive as it gets. Expose your students to the unfamiliar, encourage geographical enquiry and engender ‘awe and wonder’ in this astounding country.
