When in Prague a compulsory trip to the old Royal Palace is unavoidable and reads like a sightseer's shopping list. The Czech Republic is renowned for its animation, filmmakers and photographers with Joseph Sudek being one of the most famous. The ‘Poet of Prague’ took inspiration from the capital and has a number of small gallery spaces dedicated to displaying his highly evocative and atmospheric images.
The Danube has dominated the development of Prague and it is from the water where you will see the most dynamic views of the Castle. Walk over the Charles Bridge and take refreshment in the old square in the shadow of the famous Astronomical clock to contemplate the capital.
