Choose Estonia for…
- The thriving tourism industry
- Historical and architectural preservation
- Diverse European cultures and progressive economies
A fascinating country, emerging from a troubled history, Estonia has been enjoying independence since 1991, and is now proudly asserting its cultural identity. In the smallest of the Baltic States, students will encounter fortified castles, luxurious forests and picturesque bays. But, for most visitors, the coastal capital of Tallinn is what puts Estonia on the map.
With a 15th century Old Town, resplendent Russian Palace, thriving arts scene and contemporary café culture, it’s not hard to see why Tallinn was named ‘European Capital of Culture 2011’. This cultural beat can be felt in open-air museums, sea-front performances and prestigious concert halls across the country, creating the ideal atmosphere for students to explore their interests and showcase their talents.
School groups have a fantastic opportunity to experience the well-preserved past and powerful present-day of one of Eastern Europe’s most exciting and dynamic destinations. With English spoken widely across Estonia, students can easily engage with this forward-thinking nation, to appreciate the differing attitudes and values that co-exist within Europe.
