Historically frequented by British and Russian aristocrats, the Cote d’Azur’s luminous skies and emerald seas also appeal to writers and artists, previously attracting the likes of Matisse and Picasso. Its glittering roll-call of towns and cities boasts gems such as St Tropez, Antibes and Nice; popular anchorages for celebrity super-yachts. The city of Cannes is best known for its International Film Festival, with the principality of Monaco famed for its racing cars and casinos.
Improve your students ability to ask for directions as they navigate the narrow alleys of Nice’s Old Town and try counting in high figures as they learn about the casinos in Monte Carlos. Enhance their understanding of the region's famous painters by asking questions in the Renoir Museum or visiting Chapelle Matisse. Challenge their comprehension skills further by finding out about the film stars in Cannes and the Grand Prix in Monaco. 4 Days to Cote D'Azur by Air
Day 1:
Travel to Nice by air. Time permitting; explore the local area before checking in to your accommodation.
Day 2:
Take a trip to Monaco, visit the Prince's Palace. Spend the afternoon at the Jardins Botaniques and visit the Matisse Museum. Return to your accommodation for the evening.
Day 3:
Tour 'Vieux Nice' during the morning then spend the afternoon at Aqualsplash and Marineland (combined tickets are available).
Day 4:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
