Take your school group on an expedition to a forgotten civilisation, dive with Nemo and say Bonjour to Goofy. Have fun with your students and enable them to pick up some innovative design ideas.
Head up Main Street to the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle to discover what inspired the creation of this iconic structure. Investigate the work of ‘imagineers’ in planning and designing the attractions. Students can investigate choice and colour of materials, consider scale, and identify long-term issues of sustainability. Set your students the task of choosing their favourite and least favourite rides and encourage them to critically evaluate their reasons.
Investigate the wide range of catering outlets to assess how they fulfil perceived customer needs. Reflect on the extraordinary costumes and props used in the extravagant shows and parades, and consider the design processes needed to put them all together. Explore ideas, complete the workbooks, have fun and enjoy the magic of Disneyland.
