Normandy

Painted by Monet and Géricault. Remembered for William the Conqueror and Joan of Arc. Home of Camembert and Calvados, tarte-Normande and apple brandy. A land of green pastures and sandy beaches, military tanks and Norman turrets. It’s not surprising that Normandy is one of our most popular destinations for school groups.

Stand on the beaches of Arromanches and digest the formidable feat of the D-Day landings. Examine wooden-framed Norman houses in Bayeaux and follow the woven tapestry of 1066. Paint bridges and water lilies in Monet’s garden, or colourful boats in Honfleur. Relax on 300 kilometres of sandy beaches, play football in the parklands, or step onto the island fortress of Mont St Micheal – the 8th wonder of the world.

Just four hours from Paris and with a wide choice of ports, Normandy is an easily accessible and manageable region for school groups. Visitors can benefit from staying in the magnificent Château du Baffy - an 18th century mill set amongst two acres of rolling parkland. With excellent accommodation just a short distance from the region’s best beaches and historical sites, our trips to Normandy combine comfort and convenience with outstanding attractions and language opportunities.
