Business Studies in Paris

Easily accessible, Paris is an important business centre which demonstrates the key importance of locational factors. The roots of the capital are on the Ile de la Cité, once an easy crossing point of the Seine. Over centuries the city developed as an important trading settlement with goods shipped down the River to the sea. By the middle ages powerful business organisations called the guilds formed helping shape the modern districts of Paris. During the 1960s major businesses relocated away from the low rise centre into the newly developed La Defense. STS will organise a walking tour for your students to investigate this purpose built financial zone with its corporate architecture and impressive Grande Arche.

Enable your students to develop an insight into the business practices of Disneyland, they can take a behind-the-scenes tour of the 'Stade de France' to discover how football is a multimillion pound activity, investigate the marketing activities of Fragonard and visit the world famous French perfumery or visit the latest exhibition at The Paris Nord Villepinte. Assess marketing techniques and observe French customer service, whilst enjoying the ambience of one of Europe’s most beautiful destinations.
