A hub of European science and focal point for some of the most important discoveries in history, Paris will enhance your students' appreciation of the historical achievements and contemporary applications of science.
The Cite des Sciences is the biggest science museum in Europe and recently merged with the Palais de la Découverte to create a central hub of science and technology research and information, known as 'Universcience'. Students can experience both sites, where highlights include the planetarium, IMAX cinema and children's science galleries. Another important scientific landmark, the Curie Museum, was the original laboratory of chemist, Marie Curie, who carried out vital research into radioactivity; today it remains as a tribute to her work and a centre for historical resources. Visit the Curie Museum to appreciate the medical application of radioactivity in modern medicine, and understand the relevance of on-going research at the Curie Institute.
Take a hands-on approach towards investigating the basic principles of scientific discovery at the Universcience museums or experience the thrills of science in action on a rollercoaster ride at Disneyland.
