The beautiful region of Provence offers some truly remarkable places for school groups to perform. Steeped in history and culture, both artists and musicians alike have been inspired by the landscape and light of Provence for centuries. Aix en Provence stages a variety of summer musical events, including dance, orchestra, opera and jazz, which are often held in the beautifully lit old town squares. Many of the local towns and villages also hold their own small music festivals during the summer months. In the Luberon, for instance, a series of concerts by various young quartets are held in the lovely churches of the beautiful old perched villages. Groups are able to perform at a variety of locations including the Theatre de Verdure, Eglise Saint Maurice and the stunning Roman Pont Du Gard.
