Choose Greece for…
- The study of ancient civilisations
- The striking contrast of ancient and modern societies
- Fantastic weather and beautiful coastlines
The birthplace of democracy and Western philosophy; the starting-point of political science, university education and Western literature; home-ground of the Olympic Games… all this and more brings school groups back again-and-again to the "cradle of Western civilisation".
Modern metropolis or ancient acropolis, Athens is a capital of contradictions, where students can experience the fast pace of an ever-changing international hub, alongside the well-preserved relics of Europe’s oldest city. In contrast to city life, the Peloponnese coastline invites a slower pace of observation, where students can experience fishing villages and folk arts, sprawling beaches, the smell of citrus groves and the legends of Mount Olympus.
Greece presents an excellent opportunity for students to learn about Greek culture, island landscapes and the roots of our civilisation, in a multicultural, forward thinking and alluring destination, where English is widely spoken. Whatever curriculum theme you explore, your students will thank you for choosing Greece.
