The Roman city of Athens and the ancient capital of Tolon. The Oracle at Delphi, the ancient stadium in Olympia, and the outstanding beauty of Pylos. This flexible tour provides a rich insight into the culture and landscapes of the Peloponnese region, and takes in the most important sites of ancient Greece.
Arrive in the capital of Athens – one of the oldest cities in the world. Discover the tombs and excavation sites of Eleusis and explore the temples and ruins of Ancient Corinth – the largest city in ancient Greece. Travel to the bay of Tolon, to enjoy the authentic charm of a Greek fishing town. Visit the healing centre of Epidavros and explore the labyrinth streets of Nauplion – one of Greece’s most beautiful mainland towns. Spend a night in Delphi to see the temple of Apollo and learn the legends of the Oracle. Make an overnight stay in Olympia to fully appreciate the site of the original Olympic Games, where ritual sacrifices and chariot racing added to the events. Add a night in Pylos to enter the ruins of King Nestor’s 13th century palace, and find the remains of his throne room and decorated bathtub.
With an excellent choice of accommodation provided for the duration, this flexible, multicentre tour allows school groups to tailor a trip to best meet their curriculum objectives and time frames: A one centre tour will focus on Athens and the surrounding area, with two centres taking in the attractions around Tolon. A three centre tour includes a night in Delphi and four will allow a longer stay in Olympia. To add Pylos to the package, ask for a five centre tour.
