Choose Malta for…
- An impressive concentration of historical sights
- The eclectic Mediterranean culture and English-speaking population
- A safe, year-round destination
An open-air museum spanning 7000 years, as one of the world’s smallest countries in the world, Malta boasts one of the best concentrations of history and architecture on the planet. Notably safe, with a summer season that lingers until October, this sun-kissed Mediterranean island is becoming an increasingly sought after destination for school groups.
Within Valletta’s fortified walls, the cobbled streets are lined with 16th century architecture and no less than 320 historical monuments. Beyond Malta’s capital, experience natural harbours, quaint fishing-villages and near-vertical cliff faces. Visit Megalithic Temples older than Egypt’s pyramids, step inside Baroque palaces, and creep through ancient burial grounds. From the rugged inland terrain, gaze over the Maltese archipelago back to mainland Europe, or across the Mediterranean Sea to Northern Africa.
Malta presents a wealth of curriculum opportunities for students to engage in, from its historical phenomena and unique geography, to its thriving tourism industry, strong culture of music and competitive interest in sports. An English-speaking nation, occupying a safe island setting, student groups will enjoy the greater independence Malta affords them.
