Art & Design in New York

New York’s Museum of Modern Art is housed in an airy space of glass, steel and alluminium. Designed by Japanese architect Yoshio Taniguchi MoMa boasts the world's most comprehensive collection of modern art, including works by Matisse, Picassso, Cezanne, Rothko and Pollock.

The Guggenheim houses Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Surrealism, Minimalism and examples of twentieth century ideas, for example conceptual art. This spiralling museum was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Organise an architectural tour to identify works of world-renowned architects such as Frank Gehry and Santiago Calatrava. Or photograph the urban environment and visit the International Centre of Photography to trace development of photography and take part in a workshop investigating ideas, techniques or processes.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art offers unparlleled opportunities to study a cultural extravaganza of paintings, sculpture and precious objects from across the world sometimes dating back many thousands of years. Linked to historical timelines, the ‘Met’ certainly puts Art and Design into context.
