Move onto the Lincoln Memorial and take in this neo-classical monument, dedicated to the 16th President. Tour 100 galleries in the National Gallery of Art. Reflect on the famous cases that have been heard at the Supreme Court and consider the events of the Vietnam War at the Veterans’ Memorial. See the awesome structure of the Pentagon and sneak into the International Spy Museum. Take your pick of the 19 museums and 9 research centres in the Smithsonian Institute, where you can trace the history of flight, investigate American Indian culture, nip into the National Portrait Gallery, or even explore the zoo. Take the lift up to the top of the Washington Monument and look back down on the city from over 500 feet in the air.
