If you and your school are looking for new and exciting destinations for school concert tours, you should really consider going to Prague.
Concerts in Prague are very widely supported - so you could well see a huge audience turn out to listen to your programme - and if you decide to head to the region in the summer, you are likely to be able to perform outside, as stages are put up during the warmer months in a number of the local parks, as well as in the Old Town Square.
In addition, St Simon and Juda Church and St Nicholas' Church also host concerts throughout the year, as does the Palata Home for the Blind, so you certainly won't find it hard to locate a venue or two for your concerts.
It could also be fun to ring up local schools - many of which are keen to welcome performing arts groups to their stages - to see if they can fit you into their timetables.
Going down this route will mean your pupils will not only be able to showcase their musical talents to people their own age, but they will also get the chance to spend some time chatting to students in Prague to find out about different ways of life and what it's like going to school in a different country.
Music aside, Prague is a great place to go to instil a sense of historical and cultural perspective in pupils. When planning excursions, make sure you include a trip to the Old Town, which is famed for its Baroque-style and medieval buildings, as well as the Statni Opera Praha, which is where lots of mainstream performances of ballet and opera are put on.
It could also be fun to go to the famed Charles Bridge, which is a popular spot for artists to sit and paint, along with the Jewish Quarter in the Old Town. The cemetery here is one of the most outstanding sites in Prague, with over 12,000 tombstones and a memorial dedicated to those who died during the second world war.
