School trips in Central Europe

Educational trips to Central Europe are the ideal way for students to discover a part of the continent that has undergone great change over the past 20 years. Whilst your class will be too young to have been alive during the turmoil that accompanied the fall of the iron curtain, they will be ideally placed to discover modern Europe without the prejudices that some of their parents may have had.

In particular, there is so much to discover in the Czech Republic, Poland and the former East Germany, making the area perfect for those looking for competitively priced and fascinating educational trips.

School trips in Berlin

The German capital is a fantastic place for school-aged children to visit, not least because a trip to the city will provide them with a familiarity with the German population, a nation that they are likely to have contact with in later life, but also many children will learn German at some point during their education. German’s pre-Cold War history and the horrors of the Second World War can also be covered, while the dynamism and success of modern Germany are impossible to avoid in this cultural, political and social metropolis.

School trips in Krakow

This important historical city in southern Poland is famous for its beautiful architecture. Wawel Castle, which sits atop Wawel Hill is said to be the home of a legendary dragon. Aside from mythical beasts, the castle has an impressive medieval courtyard. In the centre of Krakow, many students visit the Old Town Square which was originally built in the 13th century. The Old Town Square is occupied largely by the Cloth Hall and this area has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1978. It is home to many fantastic examples of Renaissance architecture.

School trips in Prague

The Czech capital is another city that has both an incredibly rich history and forms part of the vibrant new Europe. Landmarks include Charles Bridge, spanning the Vltava River in the city centre. The bridge has a collection of statues lining its roadway, and is the workplace of many artists. St Vitus Cathedral is a truly impressive gothic cathedral, stunning in its scale and imposing in its architecture, making it a fantastic destination for imaginatively minded students on educational trips to central Europe.
