Capital of Tuscany, Florence is a compact beautiful city full of art treasures.

The city particularly flourished during what has become known as the Renaissance period - three centuries of intense artistic and intellectual activity from the 13th to 16th Century.

Modern day Florence reflects this artistic and cultural past in its abundance of paintings, sculpture, churches, palaces, architectural masterpieces and fine museums. Florence has been immortalised by such creative talents as Dante, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.

The historic city is set amidst beautiful countryside - the surrounding Tuscan hills are covered with olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees and have been an inspiration to many of the city's great artists.

All of our arrangements are flexible and STS are happy to quote you for any variations you may choose.

Sample Itinerary - 7 DAYS TO FLORENCE BY EXPRESS COACH
Day 1	Depart school. Connect with an early morning Channel crossing. Arrive at your overnight accommodation.
Day 2	Depart in the morning and travel to Florence/Montecatini.
Day 3-5	Excursions of your choice. Suggestions include: • Full day in Florence - Spend the morning in and around the Duomo. Afternoon visit to Piazza delle Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio. Continue to the Arno to see the Ponte Vecchio. • Morning - Visit to Pisa. • Afternoon - In Florence; we suggest a visit to the Uffizi gallery, or other art museums. Then visit the Boboli Gardens for splendid views of the city. • Full day - To Siena and San Gimignano.
Day 6	Depart Florence/Montecatini after breakfast. Travel to your overnight accommodation.
Day 7	Depart after early breakfast, travel to the channel port to connect with an evening channel crossing. Return to school.

Sample Itinerary - 4 DAYS TO FLORENCE BY AIR
Day 1	London to Italy by air. Transfer to your hotel accommodation - included in the tour price.
Day 2-3	Excursions of your choice. Florence itself can be explored on foot and by using the local bus system.
Day 4	Transfer to the airport. Italy to London by air.
