North Western Spain enjoys a climate that is generally cooler with vegetation that is lusher than the rest of Spain.

The coastline is washed by the huge breakers of the Atlantic Ocean whilst inland the Picos de Europa offer spectacular mountain scenery.

Cantabria, together with Castille, is a part of Spain where the Spanish language is spoken in its purest form.

This unspoilt region is an ideal destination for school groups studying the Spanish language and culture.

All of our arrangements are flexible and STS are happy to quote you for any variations you may choose.

Sample Itinerary - 7 DAYS TO CANTABRIA BY EXPRESS COACH
Day 1	Depart school. Connect with an early evening Channel crossing. Travel overnight on your coach.
Day 2	Arrive at your accommodation in the early afternoon. The rest of the day is free to relax. Your coach is not available due to drivers' regulations.
Day 3-5	Excursions of your choice. • Full day to Santillana del Mar, Altamira caves museum. • Morning visit to Santander. • Afternoon to Cabarceno Nature Reserve. • Full day to Bilbao or the Picos de Europa.
Day 6	Morning free. Depart in the mid-late afternoon and travel overnight.
Day 7	Connect with a morning Channel crossing. Return to school.
Sample Itinerary - CANTABRIA BY DIRECT FERRY
Day 1	Depart school and travel by coach to Plymouth to connect with your sailing to Santander. Evening dinner on the ship is included and overnight is on-board.
Day 2	Continental breakfast included. Continue to your resort to arrive for lunch. Afternoon at leisure.
Days in resort	Excursions of your choice. Subject to EU drivers regulations.
Penultimate Day	Depart after breakfast with a packed lunch to connect with your sailing. Evening dinner on ship is included. Overnight to Portsmouth.
Last Day	Continental breakfast included. Arrive in Portsmouth. Continue to school.
Direct Ferry to Santander - Cabin berths are included in tour price together with meals as indicated. Seasonal timings apply which affect tour duration. Tour quotation on request.
