About STS

STS School Travel Service is the UK's longest established school travel company. We have been organising educational tours for schools and colleges since 1933 and since then over half a million children have successfully travelled on our trips and have returned home safely.To learn more about our history please visit our history page.

At STS we organise trips for schools and colleges to the UK, into Europe and all around the world. From the battlefields of Normandy all the way to the natural wonders of New Zealand school children have experienced the world with us. As an educational tour provider we ensure that all of our trips meet National Curriculum Key Stage areas to support learning outside the classroom. As a result we are proud to have been awarded the Quality Badge by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.

STS is part of the Education Travel Group and so we have unparalleled backing and are able to guarantee the highest level of safety management and support service as well as complete financial security. When your child's school books with STS then the trip is in safe hands.

Safety is our number one priority and we have an independently audited Safety Management System to help ensure your child's safety at all times. We are also members of the School Travel Forum which is a group of leading UK school tour operators who work together to promote good practice and safety in school travel. As a member of the School Travel Forum we adhere to a rigorous Code of Practice and Safety Management Standards which meet the requirements of DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) guidelines and are externally verified each year by suitably qualified independent Health and Safety professionals.

Learning Experiences

Children between the ages of 5 and 16 spend only 15% of their lives in school. We appreciate that it can sometimes be difficult for working parents to give their children the support with learning outside of school which can be essential to their development. You can rest assured that learning outside of the classroom is our specialist subject!

Experiencing another culture and being introduced to another country's politics and socio-historical background is learning in itself but combined with our specifically developed itineraries bursting with exciting and educational excursions you have the perfect tool to bring classroom studies into everyday life. Please be aware that as a school tour operator we can only deal directly with schools and colleges. We kindly ask that you direct any questions about your child's trip to the appropriate teachers and organisers at their school or college. In the event of an emergency then your child's school or college should be your first point of contact.
