Art and Design
All students studying Art & Design are required to display their understanding of context and what better way than to be confronted with the real thing. Study trips allow students the opportunity to discover for themselves the motivations of the artists and designers they are investigating in the classroom and to absorb the texture of their surroundings. Shape becomes form, space becomes three dimensional and design theory becomes reality. Painting techniques can be scrutinised details documented. Art begins to reveal itself as a complex combination of influences from patronage to politics, problem solving and a pinch of genius. Students will develop an irresistible urge to respond and record what they see, generating source material and critical responses which can be pursued back at home.
Whether students are researching the principles of art movements or the canon of architectural design there will be a destination which will support their curriculum. Tailor your itinerary to suit your requirements and create a rich and rewarding visit relevant to all. This group experience away from the classroom serves only to galvanise a group of creative students and they will return informed and inspired.
