Passport & Visa
All British citizens require a full passport which must be valid for 90 days from the date on which the holder enters the U.S. Persons travelling to the USA under the visa waiver programme must hold a machine readable passport issued on
or before 25th October 2006. If your passport is issued on or after 26th October 2006 you will need a visa to travel to the United States unless your passport has a biometric identifier. Only holders of biometric passports will be eligible under the visa waiver scheme.
Visa Waiver Program. Beginning August 1, 2008, the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) will be accessible via Internet for citizens and eligible nationals of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries to apply for advance authorization to travel to the United States under the VWP.
