Our tour price is based on 3 and 4 star hotels throughout India. The hotels STS use offer a high level of comfort. Student rooms are based on 3 or 4 persons sharing. Accompanying adults on free places share twin rooms. All single rooms carry a supplement. All rooms have full private facilities and are air-conditioned.

Sample Itinerary - 10 DAYS TO INDIA GOLDEN TRIANGLE BY AIR

  • Day 1 — Depart London for Delhi.
  • Day 2 — Arrive Delhi, transfer to your hotel, afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Dehli.
  • Day 3 — Tour the seventeenth century walled city of Old Delhi to include Chandni Chowk, the main area of the Old City. Drive past historic Red Fort, the Jama Masjid Mosque, one of India's largest Mosques. In New Delhi. Visit the Qtub Minar, 72m high and one of the most perfect towers of the Persian world. See wide tree lined avenues, parks and fountains surround the imposing government and state buildings. Dinner and overnight Delhi.
  • Day 4 — Early morning transfer to the railway station to connect with the Ajmer Shatabdi Express (train does not operate on a Wednesday). Drive to Pushkar, check in at your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. The small town of Pushkar lies on the edge of the desert and surrounds a lake. An important place of pilgrimage it has the only Temple of Lord Brahma in the country. The Lake has a mythological significance associated with Lord Brahma and pilgrims make a ritual dip in the holy waters. Pushkar has an abundance of temples. The annual Pushkar Fair is well known for camel trading. Dinner and overnight Pushkar.
  • Day 5 — After breakfast visit Pushkar Lake. Also visit Brahma Temple dedicated to Lord Brahma (the creator of the universe according to Hindu mythology). Continue to Ajmer. Visit the Mausoleum of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti whose blessings are eagerly sought by pilgrims to his dargah. Known as Dargah Sharif the last resting place of the Saint who died in 1235 lies at the foot of a barren hill. Return to Pushkar for dinner and overnight accommodation.
  • Day 6 — After breakfast transfer by road to Jaipur. Afternoon city tour of Jaipur. The tour starts in the heart of the old city at the 18th Century Merchant's House of Nawab Sahibki. There are remarkable panoramic views of the city from its rooftop terraces. Visit Jai Singh's Observatory, the Clock Tower, the Jaimahal and the City Palace with its adjoining Palace of Harem. Drive past the Palace of Winds with 953 windows used by the ladies to watch the outside world. Evening dinner and overnight Jaipur.
  • Day 7 — After breakfast visit the Amber Fort. 11 kms from Jaipur. The pavilions and courtyards of the palace ascend in successive levels up the hill. Your visit includes the Sheesh Mahal or Pavilion of Mirrors which reflects a single candle in a thousand flickering lights. See the Palace of Jai Mahal and the Temple of Kali. Rest of afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight Jaipur.
  • Day 8 — After breakfast transfer by road to Fatephur Sikri. The deserted city of Emperor Akbar is the best preserved Moghul Palace City of all. Built around 1570, it was abandoned some 14 years later when the water system failed. Visit Jama Masjid, the tomb of Salim Chisti. Continue to Agra. Evening dinner and overnight in Agra.
  • Day 9 — Visit the world famous Taj Mahal built in 1630 as a mausoleum by the Moghul Emperor Shah Jehan for his queen, Mumtaz Mahal. Visit the Fort built by the Moghul Emperors with its places, the Pearl Mosque, the Halls of Public and Private Audiences and The Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Jaulah. In the afternoon transfer to Delhi for your return flight to London. Overnight in Delhi.
  • Day 10 — Depart Delhi early afternoon, arriving in London early evening.
