A tour to the Battlefields of WWI will take pupils to the locations of some of the most momentous arenas of the Great War and gives an insight into the events which have shaped the modern world.
Throughout the Great War, the town of Ypres and the surrounding area was strategically invaluable as the last defensible position between the German army and the Channel ports.
In spite of intense fighting and the incredible loss of life, the front line never moved more than a few miles. Ypres is at the heart of the World War I Battlefield Sites, making an ideal base for touring groups.
