STS Air Tours

STS Flights

STS use many of the major UK charter airlines. We also use scheduled air services for certain destinations and we offer arrangements with British Airways, Easyjet, Ryan Air, British Midland, Alitalia, Virgin Atlantic Airways, American Airlines and Air China amongst others. STS holds its own ATOL License No 5259 for all Air arrangements offered.

Flight Timing

Flights are mainly daytime, but we also use some night flights particularly to Greece. As we go to press months in advance, exact flight schedules are not yet available.

Minimum Numbers

Our Air Tours are usually based on a minimum of 20 paying pupils or 35 paying pupils if an excursion programme is included. Please see resort pages for further information.

Hand Baggage Restrictions

The UK Department for Transport (DFT) and the European Union (EU) have adopted new security rules since Monday, 6th November 2006, that will allow a restricted amount of liquids with hand baggage through security search points provided specific restrictions can be met. It is important that Party Leaders check the current baggage restrictions with the corresponding air line carrier before travelling. It is also important that your group arrive at least 3 hours prior to departure to allow extra time for additional security checks.

UK Airports

All of our tours are based on a London flight from, Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton or Stansted. STS will notify you of your allocated airport approximately eight weeks prior to departure. Provincial flights are sometimes possible at a supplement, details on request. Air Passenger Duty The UK Government announced on the 6th December that Airport Passenger Duty (APD) would be increased by £5 per person on all flights to Europe for departures from 1st February 2007, and £20 per person for long haul flights. This charge may not appear on initial costings, but will be shown on the final confirmation invoice..

Inclusive Excursions

Several STS air tours include a coach excursion programme. See our multi-centre itineraries, to Italy, Greece, USA, China, Russia, India, Mexico and Central Europe. Other 'city tours', do not include excursions but can be pre-booked with STS at highly competitive prices. Many leaders prefer to use public transport and their own knowledge for a realistic experience of the local culture.

Optional Coach to UK Airport

STS can arrange a return coach transfer to your departure airport if required. Please ask for a competitive quotation which will be available using one of the many UK coach companies that we contract for our European Tours.

Names List

A full passenger names list is required on the confirmation of your booking. It is the Party Leaders responsibility to ensure that ALL names given are in full and exactly as shown on the individuals passport. We do not accept any responsibility for incorrect/ abbreviated names submitted and any subsequent amendments will be dealt with as a name change. Once the airline have received and processed the names, any subsequent amendments or name changes will carry a charge plus a payment of £7 (European) or £25 (Worldwide) to cover the new Insurance premium.
