History & Landmarks

St Pauls Cathedral - Built by Sir Christopher Wren from 1675 to 1723 St. Pauls is a perfect structural masterpiece, see its striking Baroque dome and visit the Crypt where illustrious individuals are buried!
The Tower of London - Initially built to deter Londoners from revolt, the tower later housed the Royal Mint and the Crown Jewels - it also has a grim past as a prison! Next to the tower is Tower bridge where you can enjoy spectacular views from the walkways 43 metres above the Thames.
Westminster Abbey - The Chapel of this beautiful abbey was constructed by Henry VII in the 15th Century. It now houses some wonderful treasures such as carvings and tapestries.
Houses of Parliament - See the famous Clock Tower better known as Big Ben. It may be possible to obtain a visit inside the Houses of Parliament by writing to your local MP.
Buckingham Palace - Home to the Royal Monarch. In the high season (July/August) you can visit some of the Royal rooms. See the famous Changing of the Guard.
British Museum - This museum houses some of the worlds greatest antiquities such as medieval manuscripts, music manuscripts, Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities such as the Magna Carta and the Gutenberg Bible.
Imperial War Museum - The Imperial War Museum is unique in its coverage of conflicts, especially those involving Britain and the Commonwealth, from the First World War to the present day.
Trafalgar Square - Trafalgar Square, at the heart of London, is one of the city’s most vibrant open spaces. Home to Nelson’s Column, the square is rich in history and provides a platform for new artistic performances and events

Covent Garden -
At the heart of the Covent Garden piazza lies the famous market,and in the open piazza jugglers, mime artists, variety acts and musicians delight and amaze the crowds.
Canary Wharf
Clink Museum - Dating back to 1144 it is one of England’s oldest, if not the oldest Prison. Visitors will experience a hands on educational experience allowing them to handle original artefacts, as well as the opportunity to view and hear the amazing stories of the inmates and the notorious Southbank.

National Gallery - This world renowned gallery houses a vast collection of over 2,300 Western European paintings spanning the period from 1250 to 1900.
National Portrait Gallery The Gallery was founded in 1856 to collect portraits of famous British men and women. Explore over 160,000 portraits from the 16th Century to the present day.
Tate Britain - Here you will find a wonderful collection of modern art, some 14,000 paintings, sculptures and prints are displayed here at any one time.
Tate Modern - Housed in the former Bankside Power Station, the Tate Modern is truly a stunning building. Boasting a vast collection of international modern art dating from 1900 to the present day.
Saatchi Gallery The Saatchi Gallery is specifically geared towards introducing a younger audience of art students and enthusiasts to work at the cutting edge of contemporary art.
V&A Museum The Victoria & Albert Museum is the National Museum of Art and Design. Here you will find a national collection of furniture, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, silver and watercolours as well as world famous displays of fashionable dress, jewellery, Italian Renaissance sculpture and art from India and the Far East
Design Museum - The Design Museum’s wide-ranging programme for Schools and Colleges brings the creative world of contemporary design into the lives of students and teachers alike. Complementing and extending Design and Technology, Art and Design, and Enterprise education, the Museum's activities offer students fresh insights into all aspects of design practice today.
Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture - The MODA has two exhibition galleries which tell the story of ordinary homes in the twentieth century. The museum’s temporary exhibitions explore similar themes, such as the development of suburbia, and the different things people choose to make them feel ‘at home’.
