Based at Camp Tanzania's Community Camp in Mbokumu and Ndarakwai Wildlife Ranch.

Mbokomu is located in the foothills of Kilimanjaro and affords you a stunning view of the mountain. The surrounding villages are a lush green and the people always smiling and friendly. 

 

Ndarakwai Ranch is located on the slopes of West Kilimanjaro and within the heart of The Kilimanjaro Conservancy. The ranch is devoted to the conservation of nature and the reduction of human-wildlife conflict in the West Kilimanjaro eco-system, one of the most biologically diverse habitats in Tanzania.

Day 1 London to Kilimanjaro - Scheduled flight departs London this evening
Day 2 You will be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro airport and will transfer to your camp. Camp Mbokomu is located on the foothills of Kilimanjaro; 10 minutes drive from Moshi Town. Mbokomu School is a short walk up the road and it is from here that you will have the opportunity to work alongside the local school and community. On arrival in camp there will be a welcome and safety brief followed by a visit by the local dancers in the evening, a vivid introduction into real African culture. Overnight Camp Mbokomu.
Day 3

Camp Mbokomu is situated on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro and approximately 45 minutes away from one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in this part of the world. The drive up to Kidia, let alone the trek down the winding valley to the falls below, can only be described as spectacular. Overnight Camp Mbokomu.

Day 4 Visit to the colourful and vibrant local market in Moshi Town and experience the true culture of the predominant tribe in the area, the Chagga tribe. Selling everything from their famous Arabica coffee to the beautiful sarongs and wood carvings, spend the day wandering among all the hustle and bustle of African city life. Overnight Camp Mbokomu.
Day 5-7 Transfer to Ndarakwai set amongst immense fig, and yellow-barked acacias in the dry savannah rangeland of West Kilimanjaro. You will be accommodated in Dome tents and the camp is run on lanterns and electricity from a generator. The ranch serves as a refuge and safe passage for wildlife migrating between the famous Amboseli and Arusha National Parks so from here you will get to go on game drives, help with wildlife conservation programmes and ranch maintenance, as well as have the opportunity to interact with and visit the neighbouring Masai community. Overnight on day 5, 6 and 7 Ndarakwai.
Day 8

Transfer from Ndarakwai Ranch to Kilimanjaro International Airport (1½ hours approx) for your flight home.

Day 9 Arrive London this morning.
